— HISTORY AND PROFILE —
Oscar Padilla, A Mexican Insurance Pioneer And Proud History Of Public Service
Oscar Padilla, a Mexican insurance industry leader, was born and raised in the border town of Calexico, California. With a relentless passion to serve others, he saw service in the U.S. Army, in Europe, during World War II.
In 1951, Oscar decided to experiment with selling tourist Mexican car insurance to motorists who were crossing the border into Mexicali, Calexico's neighbor to the south. This was indeed a gamble, because after all, he was attempting to establish the first full-service Mexican insurance office in California.
In the end, the decision he made in 1951 dramatically altered the rest of his life; as he not only established an extremely successful Mexican insurance business, he also created a forward thinking company that still serves travelers to Mexico today, and which serves as one of the most trusted online Mexican insurance providers. He has forever changed the routine of how people motor across the U.S./Mexico ports-of-entry, and how people obtain Baja auto insurance, and other lines of Mexican insurance.
Now, nearly 60 years later, Oscar Padilla Mexican Insurance Services, Inc. is the oldest and largest exclusive Mexican insurance service provider, specializing in Baja Mexico insurance, auto insurance, homeowners insurance, etc. As his industry's pioneer, his knowledge, which stems from the many years of his dedicated service to the motorist, is completely unmatched.
Oscar’s many civic community services have awarded him with the privilege of serving on numerous boards, including Chamber of Commerce, YMCA of San Diego County, YMCA of the USA, Boy Scouts of America, International Lions Club, and The American Cancer Society.
In 1976, President Gerald Ford appointed Oscar Padilla as the Alternate Delegate to the 19th General Assembly of UNESCO, and in 1991, President George Bush appointed him as the Alternate Delegate to the 45th General Assembly of the United Nations.
At the request of California Governors Ronald Reagan, George Deukmejian, and Pete Wilson, Oscar has served as Member to the Commission of the Californias; a commission that meets with like-representatives from Baja California and Baja California Sur to discuss interests of mutual concern. Throughout his personal and professional life, Oscar Padilla's name has remained synonymous with goodwill towards his patrons, his community, and his country.
